39 Comments on Hey - be careful with my Open House signs!
Shanna-clearly he doesn't do many opens or he would know how important it is to take care of the equipment. I'm sure he'll think about it from now on.
Shanna, that just wasn't nice at all! Why people don't take care of other people's things is beyond me. Suppose he treats his belongings the same way?
I think the problem is more him being a slob rather than he not doing open houses. (By slob I mean, one of messy character)
I'm sorry to hear about your experience but it could be worst... you could he him.

Thanks for your support everyone! It has brought to my attention a topic to talk about with my buyers agents. It also reminds me of why we put security deposits on rental properties. I like the idea of putting security deposits on my signs! A little ridiculous? Maybe, but maybe not! Shanna
Holy cow! I don't blame you if you don't ever speak to this guy again. I will step warily around Jeeps for the foreseable future....
How disrespectful! A deposit on our signs are definitely in order. To bad that some people cannot respect the property of others.
Hi Shanna,
Some people will never learn. This agent is most likely a mess with his RE transactions also.
I'm surprised he never took the hints you were dropping as a sign to be more gentle! I'd be upset too!
Ha Ha Rich - When my daughter read this post, she said, "I hope he has "Allstate Insurance on his Jeep!" Shanna
He just came and sat down by me in the office - wow - to kick him or not to kick him - that is the question!??
Shanna:
I have had the same experience. I loan several of my signs to a colleague and when I got them back they were filthy, scuffed and just awful. I was not happy. By the way, in my city you can only have 6 sign for each open house.
He needs protection that Allstate can't give him. Protection from himself!
ha ha lol.
I know this happens, but that just seems pretty crazy. Even selling specialized agents still are paying a lot just to be an agent. It is silly to not automatically understand...somethat was bought it cost money.
ouchhhhhhhhhhh - $$$ flying away. Send him an "invoice" for the damaged sign. Fake one from you, copy of the real one that YOU paid for so he can 'discover' the costs of these.
You were a lot nicer than I would have been if someone did that to my signs!! Hey dude! would have been accompanied by a slap upside the head! Total disrespect on his part.
Wow Shanna - Noep - that invite would not be extended here again either - not to mention... How does he handle his contracts?
(And you know - KW will hire anybody...) :-) That's a joke!
That said - as you mentioned, it is a topic to speak to your buyers agents about, in pretty much all other industries, there is a heavy effort to make sure that outside reprensentation is beneficial - go to a Hilton and try to find a cleaning person "tossing" stuff around - doesn't happen.
Btw - I use local sign companies for my signs - we are $10/doublesided - so I am less worried about the cost of the signs and we usually buy 20 - 50 at a time - 20 signs is a bare minimum for an open house on our team - 50 is the norm.
Wow Terkel - you found a good sign company. Do they ship to AZ & UT? If so, would you mind passing on the contact info? So... you don't like KW? Did you see Keller Williams is "NUMBER 1" on JD Power's 2012 Best Service awards for BOTH buyers and sellers? Besides KW RED signs are the best! As silly as it seems, that's one of the biggest reasons I love KW - I love the RED signs!!! Thx for the comments - I appreciate them! Shanna
