19 Comments on Tips to Cut Home Utility Bills - Energy Tips
Good morning, Ginny.... good list to follow.... I'll pass on the light bulbs.... I hate that look....
Hi Ginny,
All good things to do and very sound advice.
But try drying the clothes outside on the clothes lines. This will save a ton over the years.
Of course in the winter I say the heck with the lines use the dryer. LOL
Have a great day in North Kingstown.
Best, Clint McKie
Ginny: Good energy tips that will help the environment and keep a few extra dollars in our pockets...a win-win!
Good morning Ginny,
Excellent tips on many energy saving ideas to cut home utility bills! An energy assessment of the home is something many consumers should consider.
Excellent energy saving tips Ginny and great reminders too. Stuff I seem to forget about like the phone charger and laptop.
Barbara, there are new ones that hide the curvy coils that are pleasant to the eyes!
Clint, no doubt but you have more sunshine than we do...ours freeze on the lines!
Anita, i will do a blog where i helped my clients cut their bill in half...they are now listing their home with me.
Dorie, it is so wise to do..
Roger, the power charger are a huge issue.
Good morning Ginny -
What an excellent list of how to save money and energy. I think we're on board with most of your To Do's. We don't use the pig tail light bulbs in pendant lights or in the ones that are on dimmers. Dimmers blow the bulbs. We are very conscious about turning off things in the office when we walk out the door for any length of time.
Hi Ginny. Guilty of leaving all charging things plugged in. Nice list for saving energy and money and a good reminder for me to unplug!
Ginny - A great reminder ..... it always amazes me how many of the little things people tend to forget when it comes to energy conservation.
Being from AZ. this is a great post for me. TY for the tips...
Ginny, coming into the colder months, the timing of your post is excellent! It is nice to save a few $$ on our bills, and I only run my dishwasher every 4-5 days (when I run out of coffee cups) and still hang out my clothes rather than using the dryer. Plus, they smell better!
Ginny those are good tips. I do some of those already, but I can always try to incorporate a few more.
Great suggestions! Unplugging the chargers is such a great tip - one our children told us about. Going to share these with Frank :)

Ginny, great tips....these days Long Island is mandating Energy Efficient homes....helping the home owners along to savings!
Great list, Ginny. There are so many things one can do.
Another suggestion - run your major appliances at off hours, based on the hours provide by your utility company. As an example, we can save alot of electricity in San Diego County if we run the DW, W and D before 10 am and after 6, and our power company provides credits if you sign up for saving power on certain days. Great incentive, and it's good for everyone, especially when it's hot an AC is running everywhere.
