CB Agent from Connecticut

Hi, I just wanted to say hi to my fellow CB agents in this group.

I live and work in Southeastern Connecticut, near but not on the shore.  Right now, we're getting used to the new statewide MLS that started on Jan. 10, and I'm definitely still on the learning curve.  The system is a slightly different variation of one that was in place for the region next to ours.  We've all used that one  once in a while, but not often enough to really be comfortable with it.  It's interesting, to say the least.

People have asked me if any other states have them, I understand that Maine and Rhode Island do but don't know how well they work, or how long they've had them.  Any CB agents here from either of those states that can tell us?

Hope to run into some of you at a conference somewhere, though I'm not going to Las Vegas either.

WElcome to the group. I live in Maine and love the mls we use. I don't know what yours was like so can't compare. Good luck with it.

If you have folks interested in the Sebago Lake's region let me know or if they want something with mountain views, or live on one, I can help there also.

Take care and get ready for the snow. Finally!!

Don, you're the man-)  Now, if only I lived in Old Lyme. . .

Sue - we had regional mls before this - four, I believe.  Membership dues to belong to each one, therefore, we only belonged to the one where we did the most business, but our office manager had a membership to the region next to us, so if we needed info from nearby towns, we could get it.  Now we're all together (except for one county) and I think it's going to be a lot better.

Welcome to the group Liz! I know how you feel about the MLS. Ours is pretty good, but very counter intuitive, and you can tell those who designed it didn't have a clue about real estate, and less of a clue of how we work. The secret of making it work, at least ours, is to customize it as much as possible, so things make sense and the system starts working for us and doing what is supposed to do: give us the information we want!

Griselda, that's so funny:  today, we had a training session on CTMLS, and one of the things our trainer told us was that this system is very "intuitive".  A couple of us who have been struggling with it over the weekend just looked at each other and (quietly) laughed.
