Thank you!

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

For those of us with large offices (and even for some of us with smaller offices) we have support staff.  We have someone who answers the phones, someone who deals with our MLS input, someone in the marketing department handling our print ads, and our internet ads, coordinating with photographers, brochures, and other vendors.

There are a lot of people who work behind the scenes and to keep us running smoothly, and it's often a thankless job.  Literally!  We often have a lot of work that needs to be done, frequently at the last minute.  A listing that needs to be input at 4:30 on Friday, so that we can hold our Sunday open house... a sign needs to be ordered and installed... a closing packet needs to be ordered for a closing that we forgot about.

People.  Our support staff, our office administrators, and marketing assistants are not paid "the big bucks", like we are on the listings.  They are overwhelmed on a regular basis, and have dozens of bosses that bring them projects all day long... (and some of us can be a little grumpy) A little please and thank you (along with a smile and a request, rather than a demand) goes a long, long way.

I know that the support staff at our office, Jenn, Whitney, Sara, Corinne, Barbara, and Cornelia always bend over backward to help in any way they can.  They're wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful to the Nth degree.  We are a highly successful office, and couldn't be as successful as we are without their continued and ongoing support.

Thank you. Thank you very, very much.

Great reminder!  Our office administrator is totally awesome - from her smiling greeting for agents and clients alike as they come in the door, to the way she - gently - reminds us when one of our files is missing some initials, signatures, forms etc etc.  I think I better go thank her right now!!

Alan~ Nice of you to recognize the support staff in your office.  We are a VERY small boutique firm and we don't have ANY support staff.  We hope to grow enough to support a receptionist and an admin.  I think we'll get there in 2013.

I hope they read this or at least know about it.  Nice props to the staff.  I could not run my business effectively without my support staff.

Excellent post recognizing your support staff. Their job is complicated by the number of Type A agents on the payroll. After all, we all have to have out stuff done first.

Well said!! We have one secretary in our office, and she does an incredible job. Always upbeat and positive. I'm not sure her value to our office is recognized as much as it should be, however, which is just unfortunate.

You are right to thank those wonderful office workers. They deserve it... I do all my own marketing and it is not easy doing all that work by myself!

That is so cool that you took time out to thank those that help you Alan.  I don't have any transaction coordinators although we do have an office staff person who does a terrificv job of ensuring all of our paperwork is turned in.  I know how much work it takes just to do my own listings...I couldn't imagine having to do that for an entire office!

Paula - gratitude is always appreciated.

Peggy - I'm sure she'd love to hear that.

Sussie - it's a thankless job, but someone has to do it.

Brenda - a transaction coordinator would be nice.

Kathryn - I'm willing to complain when something goes wrong, so the least I can do is to give credit when things go right.
