Welcome to Hickory House aka Hickory Village co-ops in Spring Valley, New York.
This community was built between 1964 and 1970. It consists of one level and two level co-ops on the first floor, second floor or third floor.
The one level studios have a living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom.
The one level 1 bedroom units have a living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, and one full bath.
The one level 2 bedroom units have a living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, an additional bedroom, and 1, 1.5, 2 or 2.5 full baths.
The duplex 3 bedroom units have 2 or 2.5 baths. The first level has a living room, dining room, kitchen and a half bath. The second level has a master bedroom with a private bath, and two additional bedrooms and another full bathroom.
Many of the co-ops have been upgraded with new kitchens and bathrooms.
The co-ops have parking in parking lots.
The owners have decks to enjoy, as you can see from the pictures.
Some of the duplex units have two decks.
There are amenities including a pool, a clubhouse with a kitchen and a playground.
The complex has courtyards with lovely flowers and shrubs.
There are many trees to enjoy, too.
Residents of Spring Valley, which is in the Town of Ramapo, can use a variety of the parks and recreation facilities of the town. They can enjoy two town pools and many playgrounds, parks and tennis courts.
At the time of the writing of this article, there are four co-ops on the market. There are three 1 bedroom co-ops listed at $45,000, $49,500 and $54,900, respectively.
Between January 1, 2012 and the time of the writing of this article, three 1 bedroom units sold for $35,000, $42,000 and $44,500 respectively and one 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit sold for $71,200.
Commuting from Spring Valley is very convenient. There is a railroad train station nearby and the train goes into Secaucus, NY and Hoboken, NJ. From Hoboken, you can take the Port Authority Trans Hudson to either lower Manhattan or 34th Street and 7th Avenue. There are also buses that go into the Port Authority at 8th Avenue and 41st Street in Manhattan.
There are many highways available for commuting, too. The NYS Thruway (I-87), the Palisades Interstate Parkway, the Garden State Parkway, I-287 and the Tappan Zee and George Washington bridges are some of the roads that are close by. Using these highways, it is easy to get to Westchester, Connecticut, Northern New Jersery, Rockland County, NY and Orange County, NY, as well as New York City.
