I have a flat out, no holes barred love addiction for Stone Houses. They can be all stone or just have some stone trim on them, doesn't matter. I drive by this one a lot in my travels around Silver Spring. It is located in the Oldest Section of the Northwood Park Subdivision in Silver Spring. It takes my breath away every time I drive by it.
The house was built in 1939 for Percy W LeDuc and his wife. Elsie Percy LeDuc was a member and the designer/architect of the original 18 Hole Argyle Country Club Golf Course in Silver Spring (1937), which is now the 9 Hole Sligo Creek Golf Course. In 1945 he designed the new Golf Course when Argyle Country Club relocated from Sligo Creek to Layhill Road.
The house was sold to the 2nd owners in 1987.
This house is NOT FOR SALE - but maybe some day . . . In the meantime, I will just look at it as I drive by and sigh a lot.
