Because there is a video taken on election day in 2008, and two related, extensive (and expensive) polls, which clearly and conclusively show that it's the Liberal media that ENCOURAGES and SUPPORTS ignorance, within the Left-wing bubble.
For the first poll, shortly after Obama was elected, Zogby was commissioned to conduct a pole of 514 Obama voters nationwide. The breakdown was 281 college graduates (54.67%), 131 with some college (25.49%), 86 high school graduates (16.73%), and 16 with less than a high school education (3.11%)
Now keep in mind that over 97% of the respondents are high school grads or higher. And over 56% of them, are college grads. So, how did these educated, "well-informed", "deep-thinking" sponges of the Liberal Media do, when asked 12 simple, multiple choice questions? The video linked below will give you a hilarious taste, but first, here's a brief summary:
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
71.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
And yet.....
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on whom their party spent $150,000 for clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," (it was Tina Fey, on SNL, who said that)
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Here's the brief explanation of the video, and it's link: "On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities (emphasis mine) and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not."
I especially like that they worked to find the "Bright and Articulate" voters, as Biden would say, and yet the ignorance displayed by the dolts in the 9:54 minute video is astounding!

The second poll is a Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research poll of 1,000 Obama and McCain voters nationwide, and it clearly shows that McCain voters were the more knowledgeable. Results Summary and Press Release (with summary and links to full data, methodology, cross-tabs, etc.)

Oh MY! I'm with Karen...A competency test SHOULD be administered prior to stepping into the voting booth! I believe Jesse Venture is right as well: People vote with a cult mentality--it doesn't have anything to do with qulifications, just party lines. That, to me, is so sad. There is not one person who believes everything that I do--not one. I vote for the candidate who best fits MY criteria for each office--not what the 'cult' believes. I just can't comprehend party-line mentality.
They don't even know that Bin Laden is dead and they're allowed to vote? Go figure!
