Washington DC Music Marathon for a Cause

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Associate Broker ~ Premier Team, KW Realty Licensed: VA DC MD SC GA

Washington DC's Hard Rock Cafe is holding an under 40 hour music marathon for breast cancer research Sept. 28-30 with more than 150 musical artists performing, including an American Idol winner and finalist.

The Hard Rock Cafe (999 E St NW) in Washington DC will be holding a music marathon for a cause this weekend.  More than 150 local area musicians as well as American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips and Season 10 finalist Haley Reinhart will be joining Pink Jams! for 39 hours and 59 minutes of music madness.  This is the 13th annual Pinktober event the Washington DC Hard Rock Cafe has held.  A portion of the proceeds raised from the just under 40 hour event will be donated to the City of Hope.

Phillip Phillips and Haley Reinhart will kick Pink Jams! off with their concerts at 7pm and 7:30pm, respectively, on Friday evening.  More than 50 bands in all will be playing throughout the weekend, including Black Dog Prowl, The Dirty Jacks, ACES and 8s, Memphis 59, The Crimestoppers and Burntsystems.  For a complete schedule of performances, please visit the Pink Jams! website.  The grand finale to the Pink Jams! music marathon in Washington DC will be a final raffle and the official presentation of a check to the City of Hope at 12pm on Sunday.

Pink Jams! was founded in 2009 to bring breast cancer awareness to both men and women in the Washington DC area.  The best chance for being treated and overcoming breast cancer is early detection.  Waiting until you're 40 to be screened for breast cancer may be too late.  That's why Pink Jams! promotes self exams as well as learning about your family's history with cancer well before you turn 40.

The City of Hope has been one of the leaders in research of disease pathology, treatment and cures for more than 100 years, including breast cancer.  Come to the Washington DC music marathon for a cause, Pink Jams!, this Friday evening through Sunday afternoon to help raise money for breast cancer research.  To purchase your tickets online, please click here.

Wonderful opportunity! Hope the turnout is exponential! Maybe DC can teach Music City (and other major cities) how to throw a marathon and Hard Rock Cafes together for good causes!
