Princeton real estate seems to be very popular outside the United States and Princeton Real Estate Blog has” traveled” quite a bit in the recent months. Of course, I would like to attribute this to my superior content and engaging writing style, but I doubt that international readers discovered the new Shakespeare.

Being a bit cheap economical, I only have a daily record (not cumulative) of these visitors to the blog. Nevertheless, every day, as a traveler at heart, I get to imagine who the people from distant lands could be and why are they reading the Princeton Real Estate Blog. For a few moments each day I get to live vicariously through my blog.

Today, being the weekend, and having just completed a series of “fun” statistical posts, I felt the need for something lighter.
What could be better then to look at the international readers as of this morning? Each country had multiple visits, and here is a just a small sample.

1.Unknown
– this category is the second largest percentage of visitors every day. I am not sure if these countries did not get a name yet, or on account of my economizing the program doesn’t recognize them.  It limits my fantasy opportunity, when I don’t even know the continent, so I   princeton NJ real estate Intenational buyers will skip this category.

2. Puerto Rico – they must be looking for a bit more cold, while relocating to the Princeton NJ http://localism.com/article/315898/Princeton-NJ-Real-Estate-Relocating-To

3. Canada – someone wants to know about Princeton NJ real estate prices. I understand that the Canadian real estate is doing well, could they be looking for the reverse investment opportunity?

4. Australia – Fits the seasonal profile of being hot and needing escape. I am beginning to see a trend - when the weather gets hot, the buyers go searching for Princeton real estate.

5.France – given all the excitement surrounding  French President Mr. Sarkozy, the Princeton real estate market probably provides some down time for the French.

6. Singapore - I don’t know why people in other countries are interested in dressing like American real estate agent. This post has been viewed probably more then other, especially in Asia. I take it as a compliment to American real estate agents, that other countries want to emulate our dress code. Or are they making sure not to wear what we do?

7. South Africa
–same as above

8. Belgium – people would like to know about Hopewell NJ, which is a town next to Princeton. I am not surprised to find people outside US who know Princeton, but Hopewell?  It’s very interesting.

9. Russian Federation    - looking at the initial URL I can’t figure out how they know about my blog, unless the Active Rain comrades traveled to Moscow and had to check out my blog today.

10. United Kingdom   - the search was from Croatia and somehow mislabeled  “Unite Kingdom”.  Someone was looking for”estate buyer e-mail”, the rest was in Croatian, and so I am not sure what they found

My fellow Princetonians, are you as excited as I am, that our area generates so much interest abroad?

My real estate colleagues, are you as excited as I am, that non-Shakespearean writing can attract people as far as China, Russia, and Iraq? I have to admit that I am. How else can I travel, so cheap to so many places in just one afternoon?

Where does your blog travel? Have Princeton Real Estate Blog -we will travel.

Hi Faina-Well for one you just traveled to a little town by Palm Springs, Ca.  I find it fascinating that you know the areas that people read your blog.  I have those Stats on my website, but don't know how to check the Blog.  Anyway, I liked your commentary as well.....you really don't know why someone is reading :)

Kathy - the software keeps track of the cities and the countries, the search that was used and the page on my blog that the search produced. Mostly the searches are about the Princeton real estate statistics, which is interesting considering that these are international readers. Thanks for your comment.

I've had visitors from the UK, Japan, Iraq and Germany in the last month.  Based on my market I'll bet that most of them are US Military stationed overseas.

Fantasy travel is fun, isn't it?  I also wonder what people are drawn to when they are surfing to my site.  If you see Topanga, CA, You know your friend here is checking in.

Cindy - Princeton is kind of a known destination, because of the University, but I am not sure what the reasons behind the searches are.

Elaine - I know for sure what a visit from Topanga, Ca means:)  The Active Rain visitors come directly from the AR pages; the consumer visitors usually come from Google or Yahoo searches. For some reason, looking at other country's visitors is always fun for me.

Cindy - It's just good Sunday fun to check out what the international readers want to know about my neck of the woods.

Irina - it would be interesting to find out if anyone had ever received a "live" contact from the readers in these countries.

Gary - at one time I was getting a lot of visits from Iran, Morocco, Iraq - I wasn't sure what that meant.

I love that the internet makes us much more international.  On my wordpress blog, I can easily track where my viewers are from, but I am missing how you do it on AR.  Does you have a plugin or widget that does it?

Faina, my blog has traveled internationally too and I've even received a call from a potential buyer and reader in Japan!

Ginger - yes, there is a widget you can get from the Stacounter.com. It is free for 500 records and then you can upgrade if you want to track more. It's quite inexpensive.

Brian - that's the best -when you get a call. Even without the call, it's interesting to contemplate different reasons people look on the Internet for information.

Hi Faina,
It is very interesting to see who is looking at your website and posts.  One can only imagine why some topics appeal to our international visitors.  Technology has certainly put us in a world wide marketing position.  It is marvelous, isn't it?
