Getting Past the Storm

The headlines read there’s a looming storm forecasted. When headlines are dominated by a big storm it creates a reasonable amount of fear there’s going to be damage. Getting past the storm safely sometimes means getting completely out of the way of it.

I think Eagles really do the best job navigating nasty weather; they are able to use the wind to soar high enough above a storm and out of any potential harm. But since we can’t fly over storms, there’s no reason we can’t use our mind to combat storms and be safe.

How does this relate to you, me, or life? Life has moments we have no control over, those moments can be considered storms. Just like an uncontrollable storm that’s about to hit land, life will register storms we can’t control. As we can’t control nasty weather, we do have control over our response! The very first thing, breathe and relax, you need to be calm and feel you’re going to be fine. Worrying is pointless and waste time and energy!

When events are outside our control, composure is required. Allowing emotions to get the better of us shades our reasoning making it more difficult navigating and making the right decisions. There’s no question a person thinks way better with a clear mind allowing for the best decisions to be made. Most people won’t intentionally make a bad choice, but we all have to make decisions every day.

The best we can do is use the information we have at the time and process it with clarity! I’m not saying are choices are always going to be right, but I am saying if things don’t turn out and your decision was flawed, you do what’s possible to correct and or adapt. You can’t make knee jerk decisions after a flawed decision, that’s not going to get it done.

Be positive! It's about a leap of faith, trusting faith, believing, acting and making it happen!

A good reminder that our response to events is what creates our character.
