Outreach and Ministry

By
Real Estate Agent with Ask about land and ranches for sale in WY- Chase Brothers

Today, I read with interest a post about whether agents should farm their churches or not.  It caused me some reflection about our church lives and our work lives.  Personally, I never even think about farming my church.  People know what I do, so if they want to work with me, they can, but I'll never ask.

More importantly though, as a congregation and ministry, my church, St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan, WY is always working on bringing the "Good News" to those without it through an amazing outreach, not only locally, but also in Mexico (we build homes for families and we do mediacl missions as well).  We have a  large body and are considered by many, the "community church".  So anyway, in my reflective moment, I thought that if more real estate agents would be more genuine and reach out to people through community involvement because it's the right thing to do, rather than trying to gain business, the industry would be better off and consumers would be too.  Forget the reaching out for business in your church.  Just do the right thing.

I never 'farm' a group I am with.  If you are good at what you do, they will come to you.

hey John,

I read the same Blog, I agree I do not farm my church either.  There was alot of passion on the other blog, but seemed to be in the little things IE I am a better Christian if i do not give a Business card to someone that asks :)  interesting to see so many points of view.

I heard Sheridan Got hammered in the last storm that went through.  In Thermop we got 4 inches or so that stayed :)  and more that blew away...... it was 21 below two nights ago but stayed around 10 above last night and we even got some snow..

Have a Great Day,
