As I mentioned in my previous post, ActiveRain is a community that fosters sharing of information by a wide diversity of professionals. The shower of information is nonstop such that a few hours of being out of the platform can make you miss out posts that could have been very helpful to you.
Fortunately, there are plenty of ways in which AR provides chance to its members to see posts that may be important. One such way is through the View function allowing the most recent posts to appear when someone clicks on the Blogs section. There are subfunctions categorizing the blog posts as to Most Recent, Most Comment, Featured, Professional, Consumer, and Subscription among others.
Browsing through these sections would bring us to posts that spark the so-called A-ha moments which Kathy Streib regularly features in her weekly post. Upon finding useful blogs by fellow Rainer, we now have the option to subscribe and regularly follow the blog posts of members which capture our interests, or shall we say those whose blogs are filled with bunch of useful information.
ActiveRain is also equipped with the Search function. This allows us to search the entire archives of AR since it came to existence. By entering keywords on the search box, we would come across to several pages of results containing relevant information that we are looking for. Thus, even if a post is days, weeks, months, quarters, or years old – we can still have the chance to read them.
Our own blog posts also give us a way to search information that would deem useful for us. Head on to the comments on your blog entry and see who have dropped comments. By clicking on the member’s name, you would be transported to their profile page where a link on the left page points to a member’s particular blog.
You see, finding that drop of information through the rain is easy. Whatever type of information you are looking for, ActiveRain has made it easy for you!
