National Good Neighbor Day
Debbie, thanks for posting this I was not aware of September 28th being national good neighbor day. We should strive to be good neighbors everyday!
National Good Neighbor Day-Yep, today is the day you need to be nice to that neighbor of yours. Not all neighbors are good neighbors but this holiday is for you to do something nice for your neighbor, so you are to be the Good Neighbor.
This national day was previously celebrated on the 4th Sunday in September. Three presidents, Nixon, Ford and Carter all made proclamations for this day. Finally in 2003, the Senate passed a resolution declaring September 28th as National Good Neighbor Day. Spread the Word!
National Good Neighbor Day is a chance to do a little something extra for your neighbor. You just might make someone's day. If you are having a hard time of thinking of something to do, here are some suggestions.
Just offer a smile or a friendly hello or wave.
Have your neighbor over for a meal.
Have a block party.
Do some act of kindness for your neighbor.
Or just get to know your neighbor a little better.
We can all be better neighbors so National Good Neighbor Day gives us a chance to be a good neighbor for at least one day a year.
