So what would qualify me to even speak to this kind of question? Just a bit about my background, I am an ordained minister a graduate with a degree in Pastoral Ministries. My graduate studies were in Theology. None of that information would really, in my mind, qualify me as an expert on the Bible or what God is planning in this election or any other.
What I speak about here has to do more with my personal convictions based on the study of the Bible and my personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
First I do think God is interested in America and Americans as much as He is of all peoples of the world. I believe He is also interested in how we are governed. Some may say God has better things to do than watch over the presidential election. This may be true but God is not limited as we are and so He does not face the delimit: Should I do the big things or the little things. He can do them all.
Second God is into Free Will. He has a “best” plan for our lives but we can all choose freely. Our choice for president began before the two candidates we have now. It began in the primaries. Out of the two that are left both or neither may have been in Gods plan for leadership in America. In the end God allows us to choose. Often much of our life involves our choices without consulting God. When things go bad we would like to know who’s side is He on??? God may well ask: Whose side are you on?
