I was reading many blogs about agents who are hard to get a hold of, don't return phonecalls or give out their phone number. Here's a new one! I was reading some showing instructions from a listing that just cancelled and here is what it said, "Please e-mail all showing requests. I will e-mail you back showing instructions. I will be out of the country and will have very limited phone access."
I was floored after reading that. Whenever I go out of town, emergency, death in the family, etc. I always have another agent from my office take care of my business and I give all of my clients their contact information. Couldn't this agent have his broker take care of his business while he was gone?
Real Estate requires availability. Contracts don't wait! Buyers don't wait! Closings don't wait! Our contracts even have a paragraph that states "time is of the essence". I wouldn't call this customer service either.
I thought I would share this with you because agents that are unresponsive are a pet peeve of mine, too.
