This morning, I got the great pleasure in participating in the Tunnel to Towers Run. WOW was it amazing ... if you haven't done it, you should.
Red, white and blue flooded the streets and tunnel of Brooklyn and New York City. It was a purely amazing experience to see. People young and old were part of the crowd of 30,000+ people but what was most amazing to see was all of the firefighters and first responders from all around the country and world running in their full gear! These amazing people were FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS ...
This was truly an emotional experience ... As we went halfway through the tunnel we were all being asked to move to one side. Little did I know there was a Triple amputee Wounded Warrior getting out of his wheelchair to walk the rest of the tunnel with us ... the tunnel was flooded with chants and cheers for this amazingly brave man. Steps from walking out of the tunnel there was another Wounded Warrior that was cheered on as he struggled but never gave up! As we walked out of the tunnel we were greeted by all the fire fighters holding banners with the name and pictures of the 343 falling fire fighters. The streets were filled with American Flags and it was AMAZING!
At the end of the day, today was a huge LIFE LESSON ....
- You have no limits in life.
- Anything you set your mind to you can achieve.
- Its not about the destination but all about the journey!
Following the footsteps ... how will you do things different and if you knew you could not fail what would you attempt to accomplish ...
