Moving to Utah

It was 1994 and RAF Upper Heyford, United Kingdom was in the process of closing for goood.  There was a military personnel center assignment team on base trying to get people out as quickly and orderly as possible. I grew up in Idaho and Utah was as close to home as I was going to get. With multiple openings at Hill Air Force Base I even tried to recruit some friends to come along.

I was blown away by the questions.  Don't guys in Utah have like 12 wives?  Isn't it a weird place to live? Can you even drink alcohol in Utah?

If a move to Utah is in your future here are the answers to "those" questions.  The vast majority of people have only 1 wife, and if they have more you're not likely to know it by watching, or even working with them.  You're also not really likely to be neighbors with them.

Next thing you need to know is that there is plenty of religious diversity in Utah.  Yes, Utah is sort of like a Mormon Mecca (not meant in a disrespectful way at all, but it is home to the mormon church).  Utah also has the majority of world faiths represented with freedom to be who you are, practice what you believe and live without fear of any real reprisal.

If you want to live clean.  Love mountains, rivers, lakes and a place with all four seasons and temperatures to match the seaons then Utah is for you.  So - if you're on the way to Utah relax.  Utah is as normal an American State as any I've lived in and more beautiful that many.
