12 Comments on Fleet Week 2012 - San Francisco, CA
Fleet Week in San Francisco with Bridge as its backdrop sound like a wonderful experience- I've been to our NYC Fleet week events so I guess I must put the San Francisco event on my list of things to see .
Hi Michelle - I bet your NYC Fleet Week is amazing, too. Events like these generate a lot of fun, and provide a great excuse for a party!
Add to the excitement of Fleet Week(end) with the Italian Heritage Parade!! It's a great week to be in SF, Lottie, as you and I well know :)
Lottie, As a San Francisco resident, Fleet Week is my son's favorite event. My brother was a Top Gun Fighter Pilot ... it always amazes me what our troops do for us! I am so grateful.
Peggy -- plus the "Mostly Strictly Bluegrass" out at Hellman Hollow. How can one city pack so much into one weekend???
Kathleen, it's a great time to have friends stop by and take in the action. Parking is a wee bit difficult, though. We're vacating our two garage spots for the weekend so friends can use them. Will you be up here in SF?
I am not too interested in the air show, being an army brat and seeing my fair share of those shows...however the America's cup race is something that does interest me. I would like to see that at least one time!
Sussie, the America's Cup racing has been incredibly exciting. The final cup races are set for 2013 here in San Francisco. Maybe you should plan a vacation????
Lottie - I think I am going to try to get away for at least one day this weekend and that looks like a great time. I have never been to fleet week. I did see the America's Cup boats practicing the last time I was in the City and they are pretty cool.
Jim, be prepared for tons of traffic--everyone will be out enjoying the numerous events this weekend. Hope you come and enjoy the ships, the air show -- all the festivities.
Thanks for the information Lottie. The bay area is going to be a busy place this weekend with fleet week, Giants play off game, 49ers game and college football games and some nice weather on top of it all.
Jim, yesterday the Blue Angels were out practicing--it's thrilling to watch. I must admit that I sat longer than usual by my window enjoying a late lunch and the sight. Come on over on Sunday and join us.
