Orlando foreclosures, feudin' tenants and landlords

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Everyone knows our industry is a fast-paced one (except for you short sale folks- sorry!).  Whether it be an item of a statutory nature or a technological one, each of us has to keep our eyes on both news and trends in our efforts to ensure we remain successful- and remain viable resources for an increasingly inquisitve public.

Not so much the case in Tenant-Landlord-Foreclosureland, though.

This article provides a brief glimpse into T-L-F-land- where tenants grow irritated upon discovering their landlords have no cause and effect obligaton to pay their mortgage from rent proceeds.  It's also a land where landlords get a tad bit irritated upon learning they've leased their place to a "professional tenant" as this article mentions. Nothing new in these scenarios- as folks remain as fired-up as they've always been.

What is new here is how this piece has a bit of a different slant to it. Whereas the vast majority of stories have skewed toward a Mean Ol' Mr. Landlord versus Poor Innocent Tenant narrative, this one does place a bit of the blame on Mr. Slick Tenant as well.

I'm holding out hope that articles like this can still serve a purpose- and that as weary of the whole "foreclosure crisis" conversation folks may be, good and well-meaning folks on either side of our rental world can discover more information and tools to help them in their battle against those on the other side of their transactions who might not share their good intentions.
