I had a discussion with a Realtor today explaining GFCI's to her. When I got home I decided to see if I could find an easy to understand blog or report that I could spread around. Well I found better than that. Check out the video I'm linking and by the time it's done, you will completely understand GFCI's. How they work, code vs standard and the major change that was made in 2006.

if you let the video run intot he next one, it talks aboutthe new child proff outlets that have been added to the 2008 code.

Great link ... I"ll be giving that out to people that question our recommendation to add GFCI outlets for their own safety.

They can even be used in a 2 wire (prong) system in most areas if marked correctly.
