Just My Photos – Not Going South!

Wordless Wednesday

Flying South for the Winter? Nope ... NOT me!

Lately, many birds are headed in a southerly direction over the Hudson Valley. Since the middle of August I have witnessed them in flight. Always using their inner GPS, they instinctively travel in "V" formation and head south in pursuit of a warmer climate. Geese and Ducks While the cold and snow, embraces New York, those birds will be basking in warmth during our cold winter months. Not all birds need to leave…..

My friends are staying here with me… fair weather friends they are not.

All winter long Barbara these birds hang out.. even when the lakes and the Hudson River are rather frozen they are around.

Good morning Janis, we may be in for a warm spell but that Hudson River is always flowing and some of these birds are permanent residents. Yippee!
