38 Comments on Kweeh Wordless Wednesday 10/3/12 – Why Did the Turtle Cross the Road?
Neat Kwee. Yesterday on I-95 just after rush hour, all five lanes of traffic in each directions slowed and stopped to allow a big turtle to cross the road. I wish I were closer to have been able to take a picture.
My wife used to stop all the time to help turtles and terrapins cross our roads.
These turtles have VERY long necks and often attempt to bite when you help them along.........I use my foot at their rear end, to play it safe with my fingers!
Kwee, Too cool! I hope you are having a great week!
Kwee, it is a good thing you saved that turtle from getting run over, as they cannot scurry out of the way of the oncoming car! Have a great day my friend!
Hi Tony and Darcy, with the traffic here they don't all make it.
Hi Michele, that guy took his home with him when he moved.
Hi Dick, we have many different types of turtles here, including endangered sea turtles.
Hi Justin and Krystal, he still has all of his fingers!
Hi Al and Peggy, it was near a golf course - I think he was looking for golf balls
Hi Kristin, that is an interesting picture also. Are those caiman?
Hi Joyce, the oposum and raccoon's that cross at night are not always as lucky.
Hi Leilani, they are very common around here.
Hi DeeDee, sounds like you are familiar with the way people drive in Florida!
Hi Toni, I am sure you have just as many up there as we have down here.
Hi Gabe, we sometimes have wild pigs slowing down traffic also. Not too many people get out of their cars to help them though!
Hi Than, sounds like you married a caring person.
Hi Barbara-Jo, they don't always go in the right direction when you use your foot though.
Hi Yolanda, the market is starting to turn around - hopefully next week will be even better!
Hi Joan, it is not always the water hazards around our golf courses that turtles need to look for!
