Mercato Neighborhood Café & Wine Shop
The other evening, I had a friend stop by and we talked about grabbing a bite to eat. I don’t know about you, but I have the tendency to always go to the same places for dinner. I live in such a great area that offers almost anything you can think of, but for some reason I cannot remember which restaurants I want to try. So, on this particular evening, I told my friend, let’s try something new. I went on the Yelp website and found Mercatos in Hallandale. I couldn’t believe that this restaurant was so close to me and I didn’t even know about it. I called Mercatos and asked about dress code and reservations. They were so nice and told me jeans were acceptable. However, they were filling up fast but could accommodate us at the bar.
I am so glad we decided to venture out. We found a great place to eat, that feels like a neighborhood establishment with wonderful choices of wine and a menu that changes frequently. My friend had the lamb chops with cheese polenta and grilled brocollini. The picture of the dish is featured here. I had the grilled swordfish but started to eat it before I could take a photo. We finished the meal with an espresso.
I cannot wait to go back! Mercatos is located at 1454 East Hallandale Beach Blvd, Hallandale Beach, FL. They are in the same complex as Publix. It’s best to call ahead for seating, especially on the weekends, 954-457-3700.
