... but the greatest of these is love. Today, I'd love to share a faith stretching true event with you.
Last fall after our daughter, Jess, settled in at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, CA., they were given an exercise to go and build their faith for things that don't seem possible in the realm of the physical world. Jess and her friends came up with praying over coins and sticking them to the walls with nothing but prayer. Within a few days, they started seeing them stick... at first for a few seconds but then for minutes and some for days. They stretched it even further and started sticking them to the ceilings. She skyped us and showed us all the coins sticking on their walls and ceilings.
So I tried it here. I had no success as I tried a few times and then gave up. We told a family member about this and their 8 year old nephew asked us about it when we were watching him and taking him out for pizza. So I told him the whole story and he asked me for a quarter. He prayed quietly while holding the coin to the wall in the pizza place. He looked so intense as I saw his little lips moving quietly. He let go then and ... it stuck!! I was laughing so hard that tears were running down my cheeks and he was so amazed that we told the waitress what just transpired. She just looked dumbfounded by it.
He couldn't wait to tell his parents when we got him back home and they really didn't believe us. So I reached in my pocket and pulled out a quarter and showed them that all he did was hold it to the wall and pray for a few seconds and it stuck. As I took my finger off the quarter, it stayed in place!! That blew me away too!!! My brother-in-law blew on it and banged the wall and it would not fall off until he knocked it off. He said, "That almost makes me believe!" as he examined the wall and coin for signs of something sticky... he found none. Some people will see and still not believe.
So all that to say, I tell this story from time to time to try to build faith in people. We are told we can speak to a mountain to be cast into the sea so why would it be so hard to stick a coin to a wall. One client of ours, Todd, just shared how he took my advice one night late at his office. He wanted to get home and his computer was so slow at uploading some pics he needed to do before leaving. So he prayed "Lord would you please speed this up so I can go home to my family." Instantly, he testified, the bar just zipped across and was finished. He recalled our earlier conversation that day and took out the only coin he had in his pocket, a penny. He held it to the wall and prayed for God to show him the faith to make a coin stick to the wall... and here's the pic he forwarded to me. He took a few pictures with his iPhone. I know many will say it's a trick but I know this man and he's as honest a man that I've ever known. I believe. I just love Jesus and all the mysteries that surround Him.
