TwitBack Header Creator: Yay or Nay?

Real estate pros might want to wait a little while before they use the free TwitBacks header creator on their Twitter profiles. In real estate marketing, it's all about the brand.  Brand name recognition is what brings clients in your doors and to the phones.  Creating a cohesive look that covers your website, real estate blog and social media is what helps people recognize you from others in your field.  TwitBacks has released a header banner creator to help you tweak the look of your Twitter account.  But is it a "yay" or a "nay"?

Real estate professionals might want to avoid using the free header creator from TwitBacks for now.

First, the good stuff.  There are 37 beautiful pre-designed templates to choose from.  If you aren't happy with any of those, however, you can upload your own photo to use instead.  Just like the background creator, TwitBacks' header creator allows you to add your company logo, photo, a short bio and the URLs for your website, blog and social media (such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIN).  But unlike the background creator, you can actually change the font size, style and color to your bio section.

Now, the bad news.  It looks beautiful when you preview it on TwitBacks.  However, it's not so pretty after you upload it.  Your profile photo and and bio text show up smack dab in the middle of it all.  Even if you delete your bio, city location and website URL on your Twitter profile (which I don't recommend for anybody to do), you are still left with your photo in the middle of the header.  If you delete that, you have a huge white space with a big "+" sign in the middle.  This is not exactly the professional look you want to promote.

All in all, if you are a TwitBack user, I would suggest sticking with their free background creator.  You can still add all the information you want: a quick blurb about the company, your logo, your profile photo and the URLs to your website, blog and social media.  My assessment for the TwitBack header creator?  Until they can tweak it a little to accommodate your profile info and photo into it, I'm giving it a "nay".  If anyone reading this has used the TwitBack header creator successfully, I'd love to hear from you.  Please either leave a comment below or email me.
