martin luther king

For many of you know that I follow Google and their marketing strategies, today is another holiday that they have marketed around.  Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day which takes place on the 3rd Monday of January once a year. For many of you that are history buffs, Martin Luther King played a prominent role in the mid to late 60's, until he was assassinated in 1968. The 1960's was a very instrumental piece of American history in regards to the Vietnam War, the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, Martin Luther King, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and several other factors and issues surrounding our history in the 1960's.

marketing What is very unique about marketing is that Google teaches us different marketing techniques. Just in name recognition in itself is a lesson to be learned. How do you brand and market yourself?  Do you market just yourself and/or your companies name. And if you click onto the Google logo with Martin Luther King's face, it will take you to a few links defining who Martin Luther King was.

Some topics in regards to marketing and branding.

Here are a few other pieces that I did on Google and their marketing strategies. Many of which we can learn from and apply our own methods to use when it comes to marketing. And for many tools that Google offers, please read this post. Google & Marketing

Googling yourself and your company Jeff is definitely a way to see what Internet footprints you've left out there.

Jeff, it just sounds so funny to hear one of you kids refer to the 1960s as "history"!

JASON.....  yes, I 110% agree with that statement. Staying warm?  It's not bad, about 25% now.

FRAN..... ha ha ha.... cute.  Hope some people can get an idea of marketing and what to try, being creative.

THESA.....  so, what are you trying to say then?  That I should prepare for Google's logo then also?  ;o)  Maybe we should have a Google contest to see what kind of logo they do. I have a great idea. How about Mount Rushmore as their logo, for Presidents Day. ????  Maybe?  Possibility?  I guess time will tell.....

GARY......  yes, I agree. It's also a great way to see who is talking about you on the internet. You can also sign up for Google Alerts also.

MISSY...... yes, I would say so...  read Thesa's comment and my comment to Thesa. What do you think it would be?

Patricia.... kids?  Who are you calling a kid?  lol   I guess because I am 40?  And if you thought younger, then thanks for the compliment.  So, which is it... lol     Besides, history?  I could share some history just in the last 10 to 15 years... and we are all a part of it. And even using the word decade can sometimes sound old, right?  Well, 2 decades, no matter how old you are does sound old, at least in my opinion... lol

Jeff- Name recognition and branding are very important to marketing. I have just recently removed the photos on my site for group photos to just me. Google searches me, then a group picture pops up, I have had clients on the phone seems confused, which one are you? I'm the old guy I'd tell them. Thank you for brining up this point.
