Greenway Park Fall 2012

Last fall I posted an article about the tree I really love in Greenway Park.  Vibrant colors, beautiful foilage.  The tree just bursts with colors.

These photos were taken last year, October 24, 2011.

Today, as I was at the park I notice my beloved tree -- still the vibrant oranges bursting out.  The only thing is, it's already started to loose it's leaves.

I notice that the top of the tree's canopy was getting a little thin at the top.

It's Oct. 6, 2012 and the tree is already loosing the leaves compared to last year.  These photos were taken last year 10/24/11 and the tree was still full of leaves.

Wonder what it means?!? Early winter?  Harsh winter?

We'll see . . .

Greenway Park is one of my favorite parks in the City of Beaverton.

Greenway Park is a wonderful park which is maintained by the THPRD (Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District.)

A beautiful wildlife sanctury with Fanno Creek running through it. Take a walk on the hard-surface walking trails and you might see Great Blue Heron, Nutria, Beaver (they don't call in Beaverton for nothing) and other native species who thrive in Greenway Park, where a wooded corridor parallels Fanno Creek and provides a gateway to view wildlife.

This is the prettiest tree in Greenway Park. Almost hiding between the darker Evergreens, this beautify shines with the sun hitting it just right.

Take Yourself Out to Nature - Right in Beaverton's Own Backyard

Located east of Greenway Blvd between Hall Blvd and Scholls Ferry, this 88 Acre park has it all.

Koll Center Wetlands Park is also located in this area. For the most beautiful photos of the wild birds that live and nest in Koll Center Wetlands Park, please visit Barbara Scoles Photography.

Love seeing the colors change! Being in Florida, my Palms just don't change colors- lol.  Of course on the upside we don't have to rake leaves either! thanks for posting a great autumn photo! Have a great week, Carla!

Carla-You've got quite an eye for details. That is an eye for detail comparing the foilage in points of time. That's impressive.

Hi Carla, I think the tree is beautiful and the color almost looks like sherbet. I think you are right, that we may have a long harsh winter. The heat has been miserable this summer so I almost welcome an early winter.

Hi Thom . . . hey, I saved you a ton of money.  That's how I look at all the places and events that people post they save me money, I lve vicariously ;-)

Hey Charita -- when the sun hits just right, it looks as though it's amazing.

Hi D&D . . . I grew up in the Los Angeles area and I didn't experience the true 4 seasons, it was either Spring or Summer there.  I know exactly what you mean.

Hey Wayne -- I saw the tree and noticed it was thinning at the top already, seemed sooner then last year.

Hi Kristin . . . The Orange Sherbet tree might be an indicator ... we shall see.

Carla, Greenway park sounds incredibly awesome! Now that all the leaves are changing, parks are even more spectacular.
