I jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon last year, being one of the early adopters mainly due to my daughter Natalie's insistence that it was the Next Big Thing in Social Networking. I started with the usual recipe board, which is now considered the family "go to" resource when deciding what to eat for dinner, even my husband uses it! Added a few of my favorite things, travel, family, music, etc., and then I started adding my listings and others from the IDX feed and Hey Presto, another revenue stream!

I'm not someone who has thousands of followers, (I'm nearly at 200) and counting, with a daily one or two more following one or more of my boards, but I have noticed two things pertinent to my business. Three new clients all of which listed with me because they found my listings on Pinterest and felt I was ahead of the crowd in my area, and great SEO.

I even had an agent from a competing brokerage call me to ask what PR agency was handling my Social Networking, a sure sign I'm doing something right! Which of course shows that there's a downside, we for me anyway. The hold that Pinterest has on my life. It's truly an addiction. I stop everything, much as I do when I see a comment on Active Rain come in via email, to see what "Pin" of mine has been "RePinned", or who commented on what, where.... I also love the fact that it links to my Facebook page and therefore get double bang for the effort. But the time has taken a toll on my life, now instead of relaxing at the end of a hard day at the computer, I grab my IPad and start pinning...yes, into the wee hours...It brings a whole new meaning to what my mother used to call "Square Eye Syndrome".

I now have boards for my blog, another as a daily dairy for my company, with all my team adding their closings, and another for our videos...all powerful stuff, and who knows, maybe one day I'll have thousands of followers too, but for now the occasional listing, or two, while I'm having a lot of fun will do just fine!

If you are interested in my boards you can see them by clicking here. Follow me and I'll follow you too... Enjoy!
