The pro-government candidates are absolutely fixated on finding a connection between B&B and the Stop Campton Hills PAC. Their time would be better spent trying to find a copy of the Village budget so we would all know what this Village is really costing all of us. Their PAC (Political Action Committee) is fixated on contributions that B&B gave to fight the incorporation of Campton. This was through Concerned Citizens Against Incorporation (CCAI). This was a completely separate PAC than the current one that is seeking to dissolve the Village of Campton. As far as the fraudulent postings on the Candidates FOR Campton web site...the document purporting to show the connection with B&B is a fabrication. Steve Burdette was treasurer of the CCAI PAC prior to the April 2007 referendum to incorporate the village. Steve Burdette is the treasurer of the Stop Campton Hills PAC that was formed in October 2007. One PAC is not related to the other. Maybe similar members because of similar beliefts, but nowhere connected.
The first page is taken from the SCH PAC that is dated October 9, 2007. It has been corrected by hand to correct the name on the mailing address. A printed FAX address on the bottom of the page states the B&B site. That is where the FAX was sent from. Why? After the CCAI pack became dormant in July the complete file was placed in the offices of Pat Griffin. When Steve Burdette volunteered to act as treasurer for the SCH PAC he asked if he could review the form filed for the previous pack to check that all of the requested information was properly furnished. Mr. Griffin's assistant Nan readily agreed to show Steve Burdette the file. After reviewing the file at Mr. Griffin's office for the CCAI PAC, changes were made. After completing the corrections, Nan offered to send the document by FAX to the State of Illinois and Steve Burdette accepted the offer. All of the subsequent pages are labeled CCAI PAC and dated between March and July 2007, well in advance of the formation of the SCH PAC on October 19, 2007. All of the copied documents after the first page apply to the CCAI PAC. The person or persons created this document by connecting two separate organizations using the thread of a single person fulfilling the same responsibility in both entities.
This is a fraudulent, misleading document created by fusing pieces of unrelated documents together to create a story without substance. It reflects accurately the character of the people who fabricated stories to win converts to support the village in the first place. It takes negligent effort to research the stories on Elgin annexation, no new taxes, control development, save ground water, solve the District 303 school problems and stop those terrible developers from raping the lovely and peaceful Campton environment. The police department cost/benefit error as well as the frantic efforts to annex adjacent properties to the new village are prime examples of misrepresentation by the self appointed group governing the village.
This fabrication has impugned the character of the treasurer of both these organizations. The evidence clearly demonstrates that the CCAI PAC was not completely a B&B effort. The filing that will be made in accordance with the law for the SCH PAC by Steve Burdette will reveal private citizens supporting the SCH PAC. It will also reveal to the disappointment of the perpetrator of the false document that B&B is missing completely from the report. In fact, the only two reportable large contributors are private citizens without any connection to B&B.
It's too bad that these people have really identified themselves as tax and spend democrats operating under the auspices of a republican name. Now they are doing the same sort of smear campaigns that Obama and Clinton are involved with. I have no ill feelings against either, but their war tactics against each other are not based on truths and they the war is the sensation of the media. Having said that.....get out there and help spread the truth...
