Debb, I too wonder why it is not more widely placed into new homes... I would love this home.. Looks beautiful and it all makes perfect sense.
Best wishes for a successful transaction as home buyers take advantage of the attractive prices and record low mortgage interest rates.
Happy Columbus Day!
Nice listing. I wish you much success with a quick sale & closing. ~Captain Wayne Rowlett~
Hi Debb, It is interesting that our utility company does not allow net metering for fear that it will "damage" their equipment so they say.
You and me both Janis. I also appreciate the aging in place concept too...seniors who stay in a community where they have family and friends tend to age happier...
Roy, back at you my friend.
Captain Wayne. Not Mine, but I'll take it. ;) Thanks for stopping by...
Debbie, ooh those pesky utility companies...
Debb,
What a wonderful listing and right up eco foundation alley. We wish you a quick closing on this wonderful home. A
Alexandra, it is a remarkable home and we're proud to have it here - first in the nation is a big, big deal. :)
Hi Tiffany, it's pretty cool to have it located in Vancovuer, WA. They plan on building one up to this standard, every six months - I wish them well.
Debb, this is a great concept home and a great way to introduce the public to a new model of energy sustainability.
You are the go-to-person in Clark County and around your area for GREEN!.
Thanks so much for sharing this great property !
Debb: The future is here and it exists in Vancouver WA! Good to hear they are going to build one every six months...that's how a movement starts.
Thank you Don, I appreciate your vote of confidence. I sure am passionate about the green lifestyle.
Hey Anita, isn't it the truth? One step at at time...
I think it's amazing that they now build self sustaining homes Debb - friendly to the environment and cost effective! What's not to love and it even looks great! I have no doubt this trend will spread to the rest of the county - we should all live a little greener!
So exciting!! Congrats on having the first of it's kind!! I hope we see much more of this!
Debb, I agree with you. Why are there not more? More green, more senior friendly. Seems we have not kept up with changes needed now.
It is pretty cool Kris. Remember when you and I disussed how builders here should all just go "green." At least Urban NW is embracing the idea big time...more and more are following suit. It's just a matter of time.
Sharon, I'm excited about it too. Perhaps one day we will all live in homes that generate their own power.
Hi Bobbie, we are a bit behind the curve as a nation. I'm thinking it's got to change.
Debb - I wish I could see the video, but I'm at the hospital with my husband and the WiFi is too slow, so it won't work. I agree, it makes so much sense over the long run to have a net zero home. Perhaps buyers just won't pay the premium to buy one? If the builders felt they would sell like hotcakes, you know they would only build green homes.
Gail, you make a good point, but soon, with building energy standards tightening more and more, it will be unavoidable. I think some of the 'green' technology will adjust in price point when it's no longer seen as new innovation. But then, I always see the glass half full. Lol.
Hope your husband is doing okay. Sending you both good thoughts.
