12 Comments on Jay's Tuesday Free Enterprise Quote - 9 October 2012
Like you Jay I too became familiar with Hobart products from working in a resturant as a young man. And one of my early friends was a sales rep for them. I always saw them as the quality vender they were and are. This was a good story and I enjoyed reading it.
Thanks John. This company represents the Adam Smith model to perfection!
I hope those in Ohio realized the GREATness their state has embraced - not just the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame....althought that is good too
Isn't the Pro Football Hall of Fame there too Wallace?
Now, c'mon, to which attaches the most importance?
Morning Jay come on now you surly have heard they didn't get there on their own. The as you say gubment has declared it so :~)
An excellent quote. Innovation, you don't have to re-invent the wheel just look from things that need 'modification'.
Jay, in all of the restaurant maintenance our electrical company does I've seen that Hobart logo many times. They are still a standard in every kitchen we enter. That's a great testimony to a company's productivity and competence.
Good afternoon Jay. I used to have a Hobart wire welder. Awesome piece of machinery. Subject to evolution says it all. We can always be better.
I grew up working in my dad's restaurant and do recall the Hobart name on some of our equipment. Hobart was a perfect example of how innovation works when allowed to experiment. I'd bet that Hobart was unaware that "he didn't build that."
They didn't build that James. For sure!
Than - Edison made a career of improving other products! He has more patents on product improvement than anyone in history.
They are everywhere Mike. Go to the grocery store and ask them to slice some sandwich meat!
Hobart is in many product lines Randy. I only put a few of their innovations into the post.
John - your comment made me laugh out loud! The free market always rules. You think we are going to get a lot of innovation out of our new "health" care?
Nice blog Jay....and, as we've discussed, I certainly have first-hand knowledge of Hobart.
Thought you'd like this one Karl! That guy was something else! His stuff is everywhere! I only put a few of the company's innovations on the post. Quite the group, that one!
