Back on Labor Day, the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort honored our nation’s service members by offering a special military rate called the “Picture Perfect Labor Day Getaway.” Additionally, they offered complimentary greens fees from August 31- September 3. The idea was to reward our country’s service men and women with a fantastic vacation on the Florida coast.
Rick Hileman, PGA Director of Golf Operations at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, notes, “Members of the military are very important to us at Sandestin. With several military bases in our own backyard and surrounding cities, we wanted to show our appreciation and give thanks for all that our military personnel do each and every day.”
The “Picture Perfect Labor Day Getaway” package offered one free night with the purchase of two, in addition to admission to the Baytowne Art Walk. Active and retired military were also treated to golf at Raven Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club and The Links Course for just a $20 cart fee. Sandestin also asked golfers to donate an additional $1 to their greens fees on Labor Day weekend as part of Patriot Golf Day. The donations benefited the Folds of Honor Foundation, a non-profit charged with giving post-secondary scholarships to children and spouse of military men and women who were disabled or killed while serving our country.
