Giving Cash is Good but Giving of Your Time is Precious.

I am a firm believer in the saying "Giving Cash is Good but Giving of Your Time is Precious". If you have read many of my post you will know i am a huge Chamber of Commerce fan so when asked to serve as President it was without thought that I agreed. Excited to think of the possibilities I told my wife who was both excited and apprehensive. She was concerned about the amount of time I donate already and how much this would add. She was thinking of me, which is why I love her. I was once told by a former boss if you want something done give it to the busy person to do as he will always find a way to make it work while the slacker will always find a reason he couldn't do it. He was a pretty smart fellow and it has held true since hearing it. I do tend to overload myself but I think it forces us to become better and more efficient. Cash is sometimes hard to come by but our time is our truly one precious commodity. We can't make more of it so what we have has to be allocated carefully. Until they come up with an 8 day week I think I have reached my time limit. lol. At least until someone needs help. There are so many organizations out there in need right now so keep in mind, Giving Cash is Good but Giving of Your Time is Precious. Best of luck in all you do and thanks for reading.

I used to voluneer a lot for various organizations, particular those that helped the homeless and seniors.  In recent years I just haven't had the time.  At some point, I'll get back to it.

MY wife and I donate our time, to a homeless shelter in our area. We we do it, we bring lots of prepared food. Giving of ones time is priceless.

Randy it is important to give of our time and as you rightly state many times more important than cash.  I do find however it is important to be balance because over extending oneself can lead to burnout
