The Beautiful Trails of Gatineau Park

With November approaching motorcycles are leaving, scarves are coming out, and the leaves are falling. This means the beautiful colors of fall will soon be leaving us. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Gatineau Hills your time to see the wonderful colors of fall will soon be gone.

There are many paths for everyone to see, whether you’re the adventurous hiker or prefer a casual walk down a simple trail.

Whatever it may be the Gatineau Park, has it.

There are approximately 8 trails, varying from 2.5 hours and

very challenging to 20 minutes and very simple. The “Hickory Trail” is simply 20 min and offers you a place to sit and have a picnic and admire all the wildlife surrounding you.               

Where as there is the “Luskville falls trail” which is a 2.5 hour hike that is 4.5 km for the truly outdoorsy soul. The Luskville falls trail offers an absolutely amazing view of the Ottawa River, and you are able to experience the “most spectacular eco-system in Gatineau”.

My personal favorite trail is the “Pink Lake Trail”.

Our family has gone every year since our children were babies.

It takes up to an hour to accomplish; it is 2.5 km long and is considered a moderate trail. There is a constant change to

the trail varying from stairs to a slight incline to a flat trail.

There are places to stop and rest with the children and take

a break if you’d like.  There is something for the whole family

to enjoy. You are able to admire the turquoise lake throughout the whole hike, and are able to admire the wonderful cliffs

along the way and all the beautiful vegetation.

Gatineau Park Hikes is definitely a site for everyone to see.
