The Northern Orange County community of Brea was recently named by Sunset Magazine as one of the best places in the West to live!
Brea is a small residential community of approximately 39,000 residents. Uniquely nestled in Northern Orange County, Brea's hillsides border two other county lines, Los Angeles (city of Diamond Bar) to the North West and San Bernardino County (city of Chino Hills) on to the North East.
The City of Brea is located 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The John Wayne-Orange County airport is nearby at 17 miles. Ontairo Airport is 25 miles to the North East and LAX-Los Angeles International is 35 miles to the West.
Although the residential housing is well plannedand primarily conforming, Brea can be somewhat described as the "reverse" of a bedroom community. The daytime population of 100,000 or greater is more than double the resident population. Neighboring communities shop and work in the city. The Brea Mall is a regional shopping center with the second highest (second only to So Coast Plaza) gross sales in the county. Revenues generated by the mall helps pay for city services for our residents.
Brea-Olinda Schools have long been a significant draw to the city.
