Weight - Loss Challenge WEEK 3:

The first week was very difficult. Seeing my family enjoying food while I'm on a diet was totally no fun. Walking on the treadmill wasn't joyful either.

The second week seems to be alot easier. I could finally motivate myself and things were going well.

The third week (this week) - I was going strong..... Then, I weighed myself on Saturday. Yes, I lost another 2.4lbs. But when I weighed myself this morning, I put 0.8lbs back. Urrrgggghhhhh!!!!! It must have been the Auntie Anne's pretzel that I had at the mall, and the Ramen noodle I had last night at 10pm. So whatever it is, I didnt do so well this week.

 I still got that baby bump no matter what I try to do..... Yikes!

Goal = 28 lbs.
Walked a total of 17 1/2 miles.
Weight loss this week = 1.6 lbs.
Total Weight Loss since 12/31/07 = 5.6 lbs

The baby fat is so hard to lose! And I have gained a ton since I got in this business: almost 10 years of gaining just 3-4 pound a year... is a lot! UGH. So this year I'm off to lose it, too. Exercise is SO HARD to fit into my crazy schedule. Walking is about all I'm doing right now. I'm also trying a detox diet to purge my system of toxins. I am doing okay on that (coffee was hard to give up). After 3 weeks on the detox diet (fruits, vegetables, lots of water, and supplements purchased at my doctor's office) I should be ready to hit a maintenance stage. I'll let you know how it goes. But the baby bulge is TOUGH. Even when you lose weight don't get discouraged if you still have a little pouch. That's where the lipo can take over! Okay, I'm turning 40 this year and suddenly have a new respect for a little help from a scalpel!

I had all my babies in a row.  3 in 6 years.  Every year I was either pregnant of having a baby.  That way I didn't have to worry about losing the weight until I was all done having children.  It's a thought.  If you can't lose the weight...have another baby :)

Loreena, great job! Progress is still being made. After my crazy first week, I was only down 4 pounds this week. (I am still on the fast, this is the last week.) I am trying to do as you are and start walking or working the eliptical. I think, as you have shown us, that exercise is still the key. While, like Ardell, I didn't carry the weight I gained tons of weight during my wife's pregnancy (60 pounds... she only gained 8-10 and has already lost it.)

Loreena... I know this is going to fall on deaf ears (because I know how you are, kiss/hug), but I have to say that I think you're focusing way too much on this weight loss. You know they say that whatever you focus on you get more of... so if you're obsessed with your weight... you'll get more of it!

Case in point... I left my home in Alabama two weeks ago and am now camping out in my furniture-less home in Denver (watch for a blog on that soon). I'm very busy settling into my new/old home, getting ready to reactivate my license,  preparing for 3 seminars in February... my weight is the last thing on my mind. Oh, I eat, just like I always have, but I've lost at least 7 pounds without trying. I'm as vain as any other woman and usually obsess over every little pound, but in these last two weeks, I've hardly given it a thought (oh, and my scale is somewhere between Atlanta and Denver!). I say I've lost seven pounds cause that's what it feels like, but it might be even more! We'll see...
