I hope you like this photo as much as I did.  The snow was really amazing and although right now we are going through the difficult cold January bit of the winter, I like to remember why we love all the seasons in this area.

Michigan winters are cold, no doubt about that.  But the good news for people wanting to move here is that we do have the snow removal equipment that allows us to get around anyway.  The more difficult stuff is the ice and yes, it can be beautiful for photos it plays havoc with your appointment plans.

Enjoy the winter while it is here.  Go down a snow hill or two or build a snowman, but remember in Michigan, it might change tomorrow.  The only thing that is constant with the weather is the change.

Welcome to Michigan!!

Hi Karen:  That is one of the prettiest winter-time pictures I have seen in quite a while.  Thank you so much for sharing it.  But, honestly, I would much rather see it in your picture rather than out my own window.  Take care, and stay warm...

Karen

You have captured the beauty of the fresh fallen snow with this lovely photo.  In Florida when it hits 60 degrees we think it is cold!  Reminds me why I moved here.  Stay warm...spring is coming. Good luck and sell well.

Karen Ann,  the snow did cause trouble for me when I tried to get out early to work out.  Got stuck but worked out later.  Oh well, can't let the snow change plans forever.

Allison,  it is so funny to read the comments from people in the south.  I do enjoy it ... most of the time.

Brrrrrrrrr.  Thanks for the picture.  I loved the snow in Michigan, the only thing was getting out and driving on the roads.  The last place I lived in Michigan, they were warming up the plows as I drove by on my way to work.  I also don't miss cleaning off my car after work either.  It is still beautiful.  There is nothing more peaceful than getting up in the middle of the night with a fresh snowfall with no tracks and seeing the moonlight glimmer across the snow.

Karen- That photo made me stop to catch my breath......I love it!!!!!!!  Oh, your winter words are nice, but that photo is wonderful :)  I absolutely love the snow for photography...to me this is so much better than building a snowman (to each their own) and I have many memories of rushing outside to grab just the right photo.......thanks for the memory.

Kim,  you should check out the next photo blog I did on this topic.  You were so right!  Oh my.  But thanks for the complement on the photo.  I appreciate it.

Kathy,  Thank you!  I was happy when I saw how it turned out.  When we have snow and sun you have to grab your camera.

Now that is what I call snow as I am sure youdo, too.  We have 4 seasons in Virginia, but winter doesn't come close to that,  Karen

Karen,  you know what is funny.  Everything is relative:  we don't think we have too much snow compared to the UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan.  We all agree it is beautiful!

Karen...This should be on a calendar.  Is there a company that puts out a local calendar?  If so you should see if they would be interested.  What about in a government tourist publication?

What about the group Great Shots?  This belongs there.

Thanks for sharing.

Oh Kathleen,  Thank you!  That was so nice.  I think it will be my shot for my new website:  treetowntalk.com.  Ann ARbor is called tree town as well, so it can be my winter photo.  Thank you for the very nice comments.  ;-)

I really appreciate it!

Karen...I checked out your new website.  The picture looks great although I like the one above better, showing the bit of red from the building on the right.  It seems to set off the snow even more. Oh, I'm such an expert!!!

At one time we lived in Kent, Ohio which also called itself the Tree City.  Davey Tree company is (or at least was) headquartered there.  Trees are beautiful.  We can never have too many places that take pride in being known as a tree town.

Cheers,

Kathleen

Hi Karen and Kathleen:  I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio.  Cleveland has been know for years and years as "The Forest City."  There are obviously some very gorgeous trees and woodlands all around Ohio and Michigan.  Kathleen, I did not know you lived in Kent.  My neice is a Kent State Golden Flash :)

Hi Karen Anna...We've got a real mystery woman here.  I have two MeMe's to do.  Now I've got at least one thing I can use.  Maybe I'll hear from some old neighbor of mine.
