KSL.COM CLASSIFIEDS.......THE EVIL EMPIRE??????

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Salt Lake City 5692686

Many if not almost all Salt Lake City Real Estate agents use some sort of free classified advertising when marketing their listings.  Whether that be CRAIGSLIST.COM or maybe even more local KSL.COM.  Now I know that there are many other places around to advertise your listings but these really feel to me like the two biggest.

A big part of my business is helping agents market their listing through all sources possible.  With the ever changing internet there always seems to be some "new/better" way to advertise and I love to utilize new ideas but CRAIGSLIST.COM and KSL.COM especially here in Salt Lake seem to be a necessity.

We've all heard the term "Work Smarter Not Harder" and this could not be more true for me when it comes to advertising agents listings.  Currently I have 85 active on the local MLS which means I have created ads for each listing that are constantly updated so they remain "fresh" for anyone searching the internet for homes.

I have only been in Salt Lake City since 2006 and it is very odd to me that CRAIGSLIST.COM is not as a prominent site as it is in say Seattle where I came from. Don't get me wrong people advertise there but it seems that most of those ads are scams or people simply fishing for business.Darth Vadar

So with that said it brings me to the title of this blog post.  KSL.COM has done everything possible to make it very hard if not impossible for the average person/agent to market their listings affectively.  Now there will be readers out there that will say "read the terms of service" "are you following those?"  My answer would be yes and yes.  I've been advertising on KSL.COM since 2006 and at this point I consider them a major thorn in my side.  I get it that they are trying to sell advertising but $750 to $800 a month for unlimited ads is outrageous.  Per their terms of service you can only have 5 active ads at once and they cannot be duplicates.  Sometimes I post an ad and ten minutes later it has already been deleted off the site.  That there is where the frustration comes in.  ALL of my ad postings are legitimate listings that are currently on the market for sale.  Why the deletions?

This posting for me has been a long time coming and the entire situation is very frustrating.  Any readers out there that can relate or maybe add a little insight please let me know your thougths.
