real estate delaware county paSitting here at the Annual 2012 Baltimore Remodeling Show and Deck Expo in the Convention Center taking a break on this bright sunny October day. Doug is enjoying himself visiting the many booths at the show and I am catching up on things on my computer.  Remodeling Shows are jammed packed with vendors offering the latest in items that will help contractors in their work: anything from caulk to pickup trucks. 

Visiting such a show offers an opportunity for contractors to talk with representatives about their products and to see demonstrations either by video or an actual live demonstration.

Vendors send their representatives in the hopes of gaining more business and spreading the word of their products or services via the contractors they come in contact with.  People who attend the shows are given a badge that enables the vendors to scan a bar code in order to easily place contacts in their database.  Free items are also given out by venders such as tote bags, pencils and tee shirts with advertising: a great way to spread the word. 

remodeling show and deck expoRemodeling shows are usually free events.  Parking and food are the only expenses.

This is the fourth Remodeling Show and Deck Expo Doug has attended, my second.  The Baltimore Convention Center has been the host for all four and probably many more.  It is a good location to catch many contractors in and around the D.C. area up through Philadelphia, New Jersey and into New York.

The Remodeling Show and Deck Expo alternates between a few cities, so is not in Baltimore every year.  Next year it will be in Chicago.

These types of expos are a great resource for ideas and products for homeowners.  We have one that comes to the Sacramento region each autumn, and it always provides interesting ideas to the public.
