I want a house in Maple Leaf, but are there any restaurants nearby?

One of the biggest criteria for home buyers in Seattle is the “ walk-ability” of the neighborhood. How connected is it?

Lifestyle searching is a huge part of the process when buyers are evaluating neighborhoods to buy-in.  Buyers looking for homes in the Maple Leaf neighborhood, besides, from wanting to know the square footage or number of bedrooms they want the neighborhood demographics, amenities of the community and much more.

The Maple Leaf neighbor has about a dozen restaurants that are within walking distance and over 100 within a five minute drive.

Living in Maple Leaf

Maple Leaf is home to approximately 20,000 residents, mostly residing in “classic Seattle boxes”, known locally as Seattle bungalows and Tudoresque style houses. Since 2000 the Maple Leaf area has been undergoing considerable renovation as smaller, older homes sitting on 1/8 acre lots are being bulldozed to make room for new high-end “Craftsman” style homes and, especially along Roosevelt Way NE from Snappy Dragon to Walgreens it has become townhouse row.

Residents of Maple Leaf love living in the area because the strong sense of community and it’s convenient location.  Most the time you can get what every you want on foot, the  Ace Hardware Store is in the middle Maple Leaf and is stock with everything you need for your home and garden plus they have a great staff eager to help or offer advice to help you find what you’re looking for.

Maple Leaf sounds like a great option for those folks who like a walking neighborhood with all the amenites. It also sounds as if they are doing the tear down-and rebuilding right too. I appreciate the concept of keeping the new homes in character with the old. Makes good sound sense.

We don't have those questions here since we are not in an urban area. But Maple Leaf and the greater area would be well-served by a realtor who know the answers to your questions about walkability, schools and other questions. Thanks, Adrian Willanger

Hi Adrian -- I think the question regarding the community aspect of a neighborhood is high on many home buyers checklist especially if they do not know an area very well.  The Maple Leaf neighborhood sounds as if it has been evolving and I imagine in the way you have described it here will be a popular destination for many.  Nicely done.
