The Rural Development (RD) program, which will be in effect until March 2013, allows buyers to purchase homes with nothing down with interest rates at a 70 year low. This means that a qualified buyer can purchase a $200,000 house and pay under $1,295 a month.
Another program available is the In House Portfolio Loan. This is a grant program that gives buyers $4,000 towards down payment and closing costs. The best part is the low interest rate of 3% with a fixed rate for 30 years. It is also available to those with a credit score of 600 instead of the traditional 620 score. This opportunity is subject to change on December 31, 2012.
It is possible to own a home and pay less than rent. It is also possible to get into a home without breaking any savings on down payment and closing costs. This is great news for home sellers, as more buyers now have the chance to purchase homes without any added expense.
