Fresh Pressed Cider - Only at Joe’s Place in Clark County, WA
There’s nothing that says fall more than a cup of hot apple cider at Joe’s Place in Vancouver. 72 year old Joe Beaudoin has been pressing his own cider since 1974. Even the unpasteurized cider scare in the 1990’s failed slowed him down.
In 1996, Odwalla juice made headlines when a batch of its unpasteurized apple juice was connected with an E.coli outbreak. Farmers, who frequently served fresh cider during autumn events, ended the practice.
Not Joe. He’s continued with the tradition and carries the mandatory insurance necessary for that privilege. In fact, he’s the only one in Clark County who still makes it,
and according to Joe, they sell out of it each weekend.
Joe's Famous Cider has a secret ingredient.
Using a stainless steel press, he mixes a variety of apples - and few pears - into a delicious brew. He claims the mix of sweet and tart doesn’t need the traditional spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg.
Joe’s Place is actually a farm, complete with a pumpkin patch, permanent maze, hay rides and other activities. And, on the weekends, throughout the harvest season (and Christmas season), Joe serves his popular hot apple cider.
Fall has arrived in Clark County, leaves are starting to turn, the temperatures are dropping and rain is in the forecast. If you’re looking for a good spot to celebrate the season, head to Joe’s Place and enjoy a cup of hot pressed cider!
