I love this home situated in Huainan City, Anhui province in China. It’s literally music to my eyes. It came to my attention via friend and coworker Janet Matzke. She shared it the other day on Facebook and it was a catalyst for a some fun conversation.

Huainin City has several plans for other 'out of the ordinary' building designs including an Olympic Park with a football stadium in the shape of a football, an indoor swimming pool shaped like a volleyball, and a hotel that looks like a ping-pong paddle.

From what I can find online it was designed by students at Hefei University of Technology and built in 2007. Access to the home is via the violin. It has a staircase and an escalator inside. Though this is an actual home, it’s public and the city displays future development plans to draw interest to the area. Two large rooms are also used by local college music programs.

I thought if I had a party or ever performed there, I have the perfect bow tie for the occasion!

Rene, c'est magnifique !  Wonder how much this little show piece sold for?  Your bow tie would be perfect for a concert in that particular venue. Do I hear DeBussy's Allegro vivo?  I realize it's in China, but for some reason it's bringing out the Francais in moi.

Access is via the violin...I've never uttered those words before.  What a fantastic piece of real estate, I can hear the joyous music flowing!

Hi Debb: Me too, that's the first place I thought of when I saw it... and yes, I thought of Debussy and Ravel!

Kerrie: I know, access through violin, gotta love that! It would sure be fun to through a big musical party here!

Hi Myrl: Indeed. Evidently the proposal was a building for music... I think the designers took it rather literally which is awesome!
