No matter how many times I stroll along Ellicott City's Main Street, I always discover something interesting that previously went unnoticed. This time it was the short-term parking for the Antique Depot ... my mind immediately went back to the time when people arrived by horse & carriage.
... and this little guy who was 'guarding' the entrance to The Wine Bin!
Along Ellicott City's Main St. are mostly locally owned, small businesses .... antiques, one-of-a kind gifts, (shabby chic) home decor, vintage finds, collectibles ... one of which is Ellicott's Country Store, its home is the oldest duplex in the United States. That alone is worth a visit!
If you haven't been in awhile, visit Ellicott City's Main St. and show your support! Special events throughout the year are a bonus: there's the Girl's Night Out (third Thursday of the month), Ghost Tours, Literary Pub Crawls, Second Sunday Market, First Friday in the Historic District, the Midnight Madness (first Friday in December) and the annual Historic District Holiday Window Decorating Contest.
