Friday Evening in Venice FL

After dinner my husband our friend from Suriname, and I went for a walk at the South Jetty to see the beautiful sunset on Friday evening in Venice FL. There were many tourists and local residents as well.

At the entrance to the parking lot, we were welcomed by a dolphin carved out of the big tree trunk by wood carver Mr. Tony Minio from Nokomis FL.

Along the way we enjoyed birds on the rocks at South Jetty.

We also talked to some men who were fishing - they told us they saw dolphins and manatee around.

On our way home, we stopped at the Centennial Park at downtown to enjoy the free Friday Night Live concert.

Hi Nick, our friend from Suriname watches Little House on the Prairie and wanted to see a deer in the wild. We took her about five miles from town opposite the beaches and saw a doe and fawn at a reserve, and another one across the street. deer
