real estate trends new hampshire  The New Hampshire Real Estate Market continues to show improvement. Home sales in August continued in an upward trend with 22 percent more sales than in August 2011 according to the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS®.

Homes sales in New Hampshire increased for the eighth time in eight months that home sales were at least 15 percent ahead of the 2011 pace. This brought the total number of sales to 8,413, 21 perecent head of the 6,973 sales in the first eight months of 2011.

For the first time in 2012, the median price was at the same level with the median price in 2011 - ($210,000 in August 2011 and in August 2012).  The median price increased in six of the state's 10 counties.  There was a 3.5 percent rise in Hillsborough County.

All 10 counties experience sales increases ranging from 9 percent in Grafton County to 41 percent in Sullivan County.

While no one can predict the future, these sales trends are welcome news. It appears that the market has been very busy during the first few weeks of fall.  We will see if these positive trends continue.

There was a front page headlin the Minneapolsi Star Triburne today about how the new housing boom is fueling the economy to growth.  Wow, I have been preaching this for YEARS now.

I am glad to hear you are now coming back to good times, too.  You certainly deserve it for sticking it out!

Jane -- It looks like there are many agents reporting good news in California.  I hope this continues.

Gita ~  It looks like things are improving in your market as well.  This is really positive and I hope it continues.

Jeff ~  Our inventory is down.. and this is creating situations where we are seeing some multiple offer situations where a home is priced for the market/location/condition.  It looks like things are improving in your neck of the woods as well.

Michael ~  When I lived in San Francisco I was of the opinion that trend went from the west coast to the east coast.. now it looks like the east coast is setting the trend.

Karen ~  As the market improves both sellers and buyers can smile.  Buyers still can buy a home that is more affordable and sellers can sell their homes in less time.. with median prices stabilizing and in some areas going up.

Michelle ~  Thanks for commenting -- how are things in Florida?

Teri ~  I am glad to see many positive reports from our Active Rain family across the US ..  I hope the trend continues.

Francine ~  Hope you are seeing positive trends in Olympia.

Yolanda ~  How is the real estate marketing doing in Illinois?  Hope that you are seeing some positive signs in the real estate market.

Nice post Joan!  It's great to see the market going up somewhere.  Sellers are still trying to push prices up in our area but appraisals are not having it.
