Business Tanking!
I have been in this business for about 10 years and this is the slowest I've ever seen it! Is it just me or is anyone else feeling the pain of the mortgage business going down the tubes?

It has been a really slow year for the mortgage end, especially here in Tampa. I have been busy as a consumer credit advocate helping brokers keep credit challenged clients in their pipelines. It seems that many of the larger companies down here have let go of half their staffs, and many realtors have left the business. There are also a lot of fraud cases happening down here as well....

As an active realtor in northern NJ, I am finding the market to definitely be more challenging, but certainly not dead. Since the beginning of the year, buyers have been coming out in droves. Several of them have actually verbalized that now is a good time to buy! I have high hopes for 2008. Sellers will have to take less than they wished at times, and we as agents will continue to work much harder with the buyers to get them to commit to a property and stay focused to closing. But, there is still money to be made for the survivors.
