O.K., if I were looking for a home, where would I start and what would I do first?

Having gone through the process personally several times, I know I always started by looking--looking at listings and (trying) to get a feel of the area I was moving to by perusing pictures and videos of local landmarks and points of interest.
While listings have become readily available, through MLS platforms like: Charlottesville MLS, finding pictures that went beyond the ordinary and mundane, was difficult. And trying to find ANY videos of the community was impossible.
Up 'til Now!
Here are the resources I recommend to really enhance your information gathering and make the home buying process MUCH more enjoyable!
1. Charlottesville Real Estate- one (1) site that gives you:
* Mortgage Calculators
* Mortgage Lender referral (w/New American Mortgage Co)
* Home Buyer's Handbook (invaluable, quick read--31 pages)
* Charlottesville Neighborhood Videos
* Vlogs--featuring interior tours of some of the hottest buys in our area!
* Charlottesville Pictures
* Four (4) specific niche MLS platforms for Foreclosures, 1st-Time Buyers, etc.
2. Get Pre-approved: this is T-H-E number one step before anything else. Take the 12-17 minutes to contact New American and speak with their local mortgage counselor. It will not only tell you how much home you can afford but what the monthly payments will be. Getting pre-approved also strengthends your negotisting power!
3. Watch our Neighborhood Videos!-Great way to tour many of our most popular Charlottesvile area neighborhoods without having to leave the comfort of your home!
4. Read The Home Buyer's Handbook: made FOR you, ABOUT you and the steps involved in the process of buying your new Charlottesville home.
5. Call, text, or e-mail me. Let's sit down, face-to-face, mano a mano, and begin strategizing and planning your home buying process! I think it should be fun and exciting NOT scary and disturbing!
So contact me, today. I look forward to working with you!
BTW, here is a quick 57 second video to help steer you in the right direction. Watch it, too! Intro Video
