New Stein Mart Store to Open In Grand Lakes Katy Texas.
I wrote a blog and published it on january 7, 2012 about Whole foods opening a new store in Katy Texas as it will be the anchor facility in the Grand Lakes Marketplace Commercial Center. The Marketplace Commercial center is being built on Fry Road just east of Highway 99 or Grand Parkway on the south side of the street in front of the Grand Lakes subdivision. Back in January we had no idea when this project would be completed or for that matter when it would actually start.
The construction began if I remember correctly sometime in May and it really started rolling along by late August. Stein Mart Store which is also opening a new store in this development is scheduling its Pre-grand opening for Tuesday October 23, 2012 by hosting a charity event to assist Donate 4 Life. The fundraiser will run from 5PM until 8PM and will cost $5 per attendee. This ticket will entitle all shoppers to $5 off the total purchase at the store plus two 20 % discount coupons. All ticket sales will benefit Donate 4 Life scholarship fund.
I have not seen any announcement about the Whole Foods Store grand opening but World Market has a sign indicating it will be open on November 15, 2012. Whole Foods does not appear to have very much accomplished at this point in regards to the inside of its store.
I will keep everyone posted as to the openings of the key stores in this development. We live in Grand Lakes about 2 blocks away from the new stores. Right now the jury is out as what affect this new development will have on the area. The stop light we all hoped would be located at the corner of Fry Road and Center Village does not look like it is in the initial plans which is bad news for all folks.
