I have not seen one of these before! Wooden bathtub.

In all my real estate career, over 31 years, I have never seen a beauty like this.

I have seen claw footed tubs.

I have seen different colors of tubs.

I even saw a urinal in the master bath once.

But this is the first wooden tub that I have ever seen.

Look and admire.

It was in a house with a view.  Sit in that tub and see the whole countryside!

The guy who built the tub told me he used the stuff they use on wood boats to make them waterproof.

Town or Country, in Colorado, we do it all.

So he could take a bath on the lake...................as long as the stopper held!

Wooden hot tubs...yes...but wooden baths...a first for me...beautiful...that took not only skill but lots of time...you would need to soak some sore muscles after all of that...I think if I sold that house...I would want to take my tub with me...too many hours of personal sweat to leave behind...you can sure find the treasures Ms. B...are you going to have hubby make you one?

Carol, is it pretty, isn't it?

Dan, it is amazing what man can build.

Mark, who built it?  You must have been impressed too and probably did the appraisal?  And why did he build it?

Richard, LOL.

Debbie, it was a first for me.  I think the people would like to take the tub with them but they may have to fight with a buyer.  Hubby build me one????  I have said before and will repeat.  Hubby CAN do anything but getting him to DO it is impossible.

That wooden tub is a beauty. Thinking about all the materials that have been used for tubs, wood certainly shines for natural beauty and uniqueness. It would be interesting to know how the owners got that tub.

I would think it may have been built by the owners. The construction is much like the hull of a boat. Strips of wood glued together under compression. It probably has several coats of polyurethane or maybe fiberglas.

Barbara, are you going to ask the owners?

Don, I can't ask the owners because it is not my listing.  Knowing how you can do anything, I'll bet you can really appreciate the craftsmanship.  Wonder how long it took to build.

Kyle, that was a good place to visit.  Some of those tubs appeared to have single big slabs of wood.  All were beautiful.  I have been educated!  : )  Thanks for the link.
